Vessels with Paintings

​ In this series, a vessel is placed on a white painted shelf.  A painting provides a background and sense of context.  It's an odd mixture - we are used to seeing a painting as the major carrier of meaning - the "foreground".  As you walk by the shelf, the relationship between the sculpture and the painting changes slightly, creating a kind of mental ripple.
